Tatty Devine Magpie Jewellery

Happy New Year Y'All! Waking up this morning was a little like 2010, take 2 - as take 1 was a complete and utter write-off. I should be old enough now to take heed, that not drinking the rest of the year means drinking like a fish NYE is a bad, bad idea.
Anyhow, I digress. I stumbled apon these pieces from London jewellery designers Tatty Devine. I have numerous pieces of their's already, so I was a little excited when I saw the set of magpie designs. I especially like magpies. In fact I was researching tattoo designs when I came across these.

I love this necklace, it's quirky but cool. It's definitely going on the birthday present list!
Head over to their site and check out their numerous other collections. They have also collaborated with some of my favourite artists included Rob Ryan, Gilbert & George and also Ashish.

Happy Christmas Crowded Teeth

It's the most wonderful time of the year. That what Andy Williams keeps telling me. So with all deluge of new festive design around us in the shops, I'm going to post a few of my favorites.

First up are a collection of cards from Crowded Teeth.

Designer Michelle Romo is based in Los Angeles and has been working in character illustration for 9 years. She has also done work for Loungefly, Urban Outfitters and Sanrio so I'm sure I'll be posting more of her work soon.

Dee Beale - For Real

So after yesterday's slight deviation from the path of design enlightenment, I have something new to share.
I came across the work of printmaker Dee Beale this morning. Now I have a love of most things animal related, in particular birds, hares, whales and polar bears. So when I came across Dee's work, I knew I had to make a post about it.

Her retro silkscreen prints are bold but beautiful, using simple colour in her geometric illustrations. She is a freelance designer based in the UK. I know for sure some of her prints are going on my Christmas wish list!

This gives me itching fingers to get back into the print studio and get all manual again.

Go over to her very cool blog and take a look. Her work is also for sale on Etsy....

Remember Me.....As If I Could Forget You!

Well it's Sunday, yes I know it's X-Factor final day, but you know what? Yeah you guessed it, I ain't that bothered now everyone left in it can actually sing. Yep I'm talking about you Jedward.

So Sunday's a day for doing little, maybe a little stretching, a yawn, some tea, then maybe some more tea, a little surf around the internet just looking at stuff. I like just looking at stuff.

But today in my stuff-search, I ignored work related finds in favour of some pretty. I could try and mask this post in a cloak of deception - in that I'm highly anticipating the release of this film. Which I am, and not just because of the obvious reason.

I'm a designer, right? I'm naturally drawn to the aesthetically pleasing - it's in my nature. But just between you and me, I do find I am drawn to this aesthetic rather a lot. Ok come on, I've posted 3 entries now, even those this blog is still a baby I think I've done rather well in not mentioning the man in my life yet.

So here it is. Some Rob for us all...just remember it's Sunday guys. So chillax...go vote for Ollie or somethin' tee hee!

Remember Me in cinemas in the UK April 2nd 2010
(don't even go there about why the UK gets it so much later than the rest of the world....argh, look \/ even Rob's sad about it.)

>>W.O.A.H<<

I'm in love guys, and so much so I want to wear it on my t-shirt. I've had a Wildfox Couture tee for a while, but decided to treat myself to a few more so I visited their online store......and that was it. I now have a new favorite label....stand by bank manager, my account is about to go size zero!

I have included a link to Kimberly's blog, the fashion illustrations and the Hello Dolly! Summer 2010 photo-shoot rock my socks right out of 2009.

My heart is all a flutter!

No Added Sugar

From one of my favorite labels around, the London based children's brand No Added Sugar. With a large dash of mod styling and a nod towards high-end luxury, with the help designer Florence Beal ( from Paul Smith none the less) this label puts edgy and aspiration into children's wear.

It was hard to chose one item but I love this baby playsuit, it's just brilliant. I only wish their clothes where a bit bigger so I could squeeze into them!

Check out their site for more information.... and just a general peek. Even if you don't have kids, this label is so cool you'll want to wear their threads!
